Born in Wales and now living in London with my husband and two dogs, I have always sought creative outlets. After long days working in The City, I often turned to evening classes in watercolour, acrylic, or oil painting as a way to unwind.
I discovered textiles following a significant ME/CFS episode during lockdown, when I needed something to help rebuild my concentration and stamina. To the uninitiated, crochet may seem like a gentle and unchallenging craft, but when taken seriously, it stretches the brain beyond imaginable limits.
From crochet, it was a natural progression to embroidery, and from there, my love of stitching led me to hand quilting, darning, knitting, tapestry, weaving, bargello, and then specialist embroidery, and tunisian crochet. Eventually, stitching alone wasn't enough, I began designing my own patterns and, later, teaching.
I now maintain my art practice along with textiles and I've never been happier!
